Our Story

From insurance and a single rental to full communities and a growing team, here’s how we got here.

  • 2010: Laying the Foundation

    Nick earns his Wisconsin insurance license, starting a career focused on protecting homes and helping people feel secure. This was the foundation for everything that followed.

  • 2018: First Steps into Real Estate

    Purchased the first rental property, opening the door to hands-on property management and understanding what it takes to make a home truly work for a family.

  • 2020: Expanding into Home Renovation

    Completed the first manufactured home renovation and sale. This milestone proved that quality upgrades and fair pricing could go hand in hand.

  • 2021: Forming the Company

    Ziegler Affordable Homes, LLC is officially created, combining home sales, rentals, and insurance into one mission-driven business.

  • 2023: First Community Acquisitions

    Acquired Capital Hill Community in Poynette with 22 lots and Riverside Community in North Freedom with 32 lots near the Baraboo River and Bluffs. These additions marked the start of providing entire neighborhoods, not just individual homes.

  • Today and Beyond

    We continue investing in great homes, helpful service, and well run communities, always with the goal of making affordable housing accessible to more Wisconsin families.

With 15 years of experience as a licensed insurance agent, Nick makes sure you get the right coverage whether for a manufactured home, traditional home, or even bundled with your auto policy. Nick Ziegler — Owner & Licensed Insurance Agent

I founded Ziegler Affordable Homes to bridge the gap between quality and affordability, but my real motivation is family. In 2024, I married my wife and we welcomed our beautiful baby daughter. Those moments reshaped the way I see home, not just as a roof and walls, but as the place where life’s best memories are made. With over a decade of insurance experience and years in real estate, I have built my career on treating people with respect and building lasting relationships. When I am not walking lots or helping clients protect their homes, you will find me with my wife and daughter, enjoying the simple moments that remind me why this work matters.

Ryan and Diana Prentiss — Project Manager & Bookkeeper

Ryan has been part of my life and work long before Ziegler Affordable Homes existed. We first worked together in the hospitality industry back in 2012, learning the value of service and follow-through. Today, Ryan oversees renovations, maintenance, and community projects with the same dedication. He is a devoted husband to Diana and a proud dad, always making time for family. Whether it is watching his kids at their activities, spending weekends outdoors, or hosting a backyard cookout, Ryan values the kind of quality time that makes a house feel like a home. His calm demeanor and genuine care for people make him someone clients trust immediately.

Diana is not only Ryan’s partner in life but also a key partner in the business. She keeps the books in order, helps with sales, and is often the friendly first point of contact for clients. Fluent in English and Spanish, she makes sure every client feels welcome and understood. Diana is also known for her willingness to pitch in anywhere, whether answering questions, translating for Spanish-speaking buyers, or rolling up her sleeves during a renovation. She is proud of the balance she maintains between work and family, and she loves being part of a team that treats clients like friends.
